Nielsen added that the fast bowler Mitchell Johnson's

Australia's coach Tim Nielsen believes the reverse swing of Brett Lee and his England counterpart James Anderson will have a big impact on the Ashes series.
Lee showed he is fully recovered from an ankle operation when he took seven wickets against the England Lions at Worcester last week while Anderson has been tipped by many to challenge Andrew Flintoff as England's leading bowler of the series, which starts on Wednesday in Cardiff.
"I think reverse swing will play a big part. Brett bowled it so well in the first innings at Worcester," said Nielsen. "He bowled a very impressive spell of 90 miles an hour plus, with the ball reversing in. That is his big strength when the ball starts to do that, especially with his pace. He has done it well in the past and Anderson does a good job with it for England.
"If the ball stops swinging naturally, the idea is to try and get it going reverse as quick as you can. With fast outfields and flat wickets, you need something happening otherwise good batsmen will get a lot of runs. I think it will play a huge part."
Nielsen added that the fast bowler Mitchell Johnson's form and fitness was improved by the warm-up game against the Lions and he expects him to be fully prepared for the Tests. "Mitchell definitely got better against the Lions. His pace was up. He was able to go over and round the wicket, which is a good sign for his rhythm," he said.
"He got the ball through nicely and worked out a couple of things from the first innings that hadn't worked quite right. He is coming along nicely and with a couple of run-outs in the nets under his belt on Monday and Tuesday, he will be primed and ready for the Test. The biggest thing for us is being aware he is going to have three weeks playing in a row.

Chandrayaan-1 has given Indian scientists

The successful experiment with Chandrayaan-1 has given Indian scientists a newfound confidence.
India’s space program has come a long way since it was established in 1962 as the Indian National Committee on Space Research (INCOSPAR). Its successor, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), was set up in 1969, and six years later their first satellite, Aryabhata, was launched. Since then ISRO has matured into one of the “Big Three” Asian space agencies, alongside China’s CNSA and Japan’s JAXA. It is a significant partner in many international space projects.
The first ISRO Moon probe, Chandrayaan 1, was an important step away from ISRO’s previous focus on practical space technology applications, such as remote sensing, communications, distance learning, telemedicine, and security. These efforts were all aimed at supporting India’s national development goals. For many years the feeling was that everything they did had to have a direct payoff for the people and particularly for the impoverished masses. The mission was the first pure space science mission the Indian agency had even done.
The Insat series of communications satellites and the unique weather sensors that they carry are a good example of ISRO’s traditional approach. These satellites were at first launched mostly by Europe’s Ariane and are now being put into orbit by India’s own Geosynchronous Space Launch Vehicle (GSLV). The technology for the spacecraft themselves was almost entirely homegrown. ISRO’s policy was to use as little foreign input as possible, both in order to develop their own industrial base and—so they claimed—to hold down costs.
Chandrayaan 1 represented a major break from that tradition. It incorporated instrument packages from Britain, Germany, Russia, Sweden, and the US, as well as from India itself. This represented a major step forward in India-US cooperation. Overcoming the bureaucratic and political obstacles that have long stood in the way of such bilateral programs was a major achievement for all involved. On the US side breaking through the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) restrictions was only accomplished with a lot of hard work on the part of both NASA and the State Department. It would never have been possible without a commitment from the highest levels of government: former President George W. Bush and former Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee deserve a lot of credit in this regard. In their joint November 2001 communiqué they announced that they had “…agreed to initiate discussions on Civil Space cooperation.”

Infrastructure and motivated the youths to adopt a professional attitude

Guwahati, July 5: Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi today said the state would soon have a sports policy of its own — a long-pending demand of the sports fraternity, as it helped the development of infrastructure and motivated the youths to adopt a professional attitude. Addressing the gathering during a felicitation ceremony of five veteran sportspersons by the Assam Olympic Association (AOA) during the Olympic Dacelebrations at Nehru Stadium here today, Gogoi said tapping talent in the rural sector would be the top priority of the policy.
Earlier, flagging off the mass jogging from the Bhangagarh flyover here, Gogoi, who is also the AOA president, said the association’s slogan of Gaonoloi Jaun Bola (Let’s march to the village) was still not yielding the desired output because of the lack of an organised approach.
The run was organised after a gap of two years since the 33rd National Games was held here in February 2007.
Five veteran sportspersons — sports personality Pulin Das, former AOA general secretary Nani Dutta, former international paddler Nandini Baruah, former ACA treasurer Ashadur Rahman and former tennis player Susan Das Choudhury — were felicitated and presented with Rs 5,000 each.

Blocking ousted President Honduran coup leaders faced further isolation

TEGUCIGALPA (AFP) — Honduran coup leaders faced further isolation, after blocking ousted President Manuel Zelaya from flying into the capital's airport, where soldiers killed two of his supporters, according to police.
Zelaya's attempt to return to the polarized nation one week after he was kicked out of power came as tensions reached breaking point, with tens of thousands of his supporters massed at the heavily-militarized airport.
As soldiers fired shots and tear gas at rock-throwing protesters, two people died, according to police. The local Red Cross reported one death.
Moments later, Zelaya's plane swooped over the runway as military vehicles blocked it from landing.
"I'm doing everything I can," Zelaya said live on Venezuela's Telesur television. "If I had a parachute I would immediately jump out of this plane."
"From tomorrow the responsibility will fall on the powers, particularly the United States," Zelaya added.
International pressure was set to increase on the heels of aid freezes, ambassador withdrawals and temporary trade blockages.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, Zelaya's key backer, has said he suspended key shipments of oil to Honduras, which he said would drive up gasoline prices.
To add to the country's isolation, the Organization of American States (OAS) voted to suspend Honduras late Saturday, in the first such move since the exclusion of Cuba in 1962.
Members of the pan-American body slammed the leaders of the coup which saw the army remove Zelaya at the height of a dispute with the courts, politicians and the army over his plans to change the constitution -- which opponents said included an attempt to stand for a second term.
After the dramatic attempt to land in Tegucigalpa, Zelaya met with OAS chief Jose Miguel Insulza and the presidents of Argentina, Ecuador and Paraguay in neighboring El Salvador late Sunday, before heading to Nicaragua.
Insulza said at a joint news conference that he was prepared to continue working on resolving the crisis.
